IPL is a very effective non-surgical, non-invasive Hair Reduction system for the face & body.
How does IPL permanent hair reduction work?
The filtered IPL light is absorbed by melanin (colour) in the hair follicle. The light is then transformed into heat, targeting the blood supply to the follicle to prevent further hair growth.
IPL is only effective in the "active hair" Anagen phase of the hair cycle. Hairs in the other two phases could be partially affected during the treatment causing a reduction in size of the follicle. This is why multiple treatments are required over time to capture the hairs in the "active" phase.
How Often Are Treatments Required?
Typically a hair reduction course consists of 8-10 treatments, scheduled 4-6 weeks apart. Future maintenance treatments may be required 1-2 times per year, as hairs in the Telogen (resting phase), may continue to grow at any time.
Results
You can expect to see a 10-20% reduction in hair growth after each treatment and approximately 85-95% total hair reduction following a course of 8-10 treatments. Any new hair growth is finer, lighter, barely visible and eliminates potential ingrowns.
Treatment Areas
IPL Hair Reduction can be performed on multiple face and body areas, the most popular being the face, underarms, bikini/brazilian, legs and men's chests and backs. See below for a more extensive list of treatment areas available.
