TAKE THE ACTION STEPS TODAY TO INCREASE YOUR SELF-CONFIDENCE AND SELF-WORTH

In my line of work I meet many women, all with different backgrounds, all beautiful in their own ways. They visit the beauty clinic for a variety of reasons, some enjoy the pamper and relaxation experience – the "me time". Most though, are visiting to improve something about their looks and appearance.

Correcting skin issues like acne, acne scars, pigmentation (brown spots) and reducing lines and wrinkles gives an amazing boost to one’s self-worth and confidence – it can literally change someone’s life!

For so many women our confidence and self-worth is interwoven with our own perceptions of our appearance and body image, the opinions of others and perceived society ideals. Though we all know this shouldn’t be the case, the reality is that it is mostly this way.

Now, there’s definitely nothing wrong with taking measures to look your very best, in fact, taking pride in our appearance and looking after ourselves is uplifting and confidence building in itself. Just be sure to do it for the right reasons. Having treatments done to please another person, please an employer or to conform to society’s outdated beauty standards is not the right reason and will not improve your self-confidence or self-worth in the long run.

DO IT FOR YOU!

Confidence is a self-perpetuating cycle. It starts with you and taking action! You do something that gives you a good result – this gives you encouragement to continue, the more you do the more confident you become. Then others notice your results giving you reassurance and more confidence. People then start to notice your increased confidence giving you – yep you guessed it – even more confidence!

Our appearance is one area where this confidence cycle works brilliantly. You identify an issue you’d like improved then take action by having facial treatments done. You start getting results, then other people notice your results. You feel better about yourself and this leads to greater self-confidence. Then others notice this confidence shift which gives you another boost. This increased confidence then resonates through all areas of your life which gives rise to results in those areas too.

And so on the cycle goes. All for taking a few action steps in one area of your life that you were self-conscious about.

CONFIDENCE IN PERSPECTIVE

In beauty, an issue which may seem quite small and minimal to one person, can be completely magnified and overwhelming for another. For example, those with acne and acne scarring are often very self-conscious of these blemishes. Others around them don’t even notice or care but to the person who has the acne and scarring it feels like such an ugly blemish that they can feel embarrassed, they may be shy meeting new people, withdraw from social outings and have a lower self-worth.

By simply visiting a beauty clinic for treatments that target acne and scarring, they can significantly reduce the visible blemishes and potentially improve and minimise future outbreaks leading to a greater self-confidence and feeling much more comfortable in the skin they’re in.

If you suffer from skin issues and it’s affecting your life in some way - even minimally, talk to a beauty therapist about your situation and your skin goals. They will help you investigate options specific to you. Knowledge is power, you may not wish to act straight away, but you now have the resources and action plan to make the changes when you’re ready.

Beauty clinics offer the opportunity to improve skin concerns and this translates to improved customer self-confidence levels. It can be absolutely life changing for some and it’s the reason I got into this industry – to help improve women’s self-confidence and self-worth. Of course making them look even more beautiful than they are is a positive and enjoyable side effect too!
